Hand Techniques
The Punch
- Four fingers curled in and thumb tucked under
- Shoulders relaxed and extended

Side view is shown below. Notice extension of shoulders accompanied by a slight hip rotation.
HINT: Shoulders should not be square! You don't want to look like this...
The Palm
- Four fingers together with the thumb tucked in (both hands)
- Rotate hand slightly so that strike is made with blade of palm
- Top of palm is at approximately nose/eye height
- Shoulders relaxed and striking arm extended as with punch

Side view is shown below. Again notice the extension of shoulders accompanied by a slight hip rotation.
The Hook
- Five fingers come together to a point
- Wrist bent downwards
- Arm fully extended (straight)

The Double Hook is shown below.
HINT: Shoulders should be in a relaxed position. You don't want to look like this...
