So I did Bikram Yoga this morn - talk about an experience!

A place on Bridge Rd in Richmond, you go upstairs and they've heated the room up to 37 degrees, windows closed, nearly 40 people in there (it ain't a big space either.. ) and they drill you through an intensive 90 mins of yoga and sweating! Having not really done anything of the sort before, I found it incredibly challenging (and sweaty) but having some wushu flexibility and leg strength definitely helped. The feeling afterwards was amazing - like I'd just had every single muscle in my body massaged!! I found it a very good complimentary exercise to wushu, having such a strong emphasis on focus of the body and mind - and it being a 'still' (NOT jumpy-aroundy) exercise was certainly something I appreciated ;)

So anyways, if you're interested, the charge is $18 for a 10-day pass (I believe you can go to any number of classes within the 10-day period). If you wanna go, let me know and we can do a class together!

heat, exercise and suffocation sound like exactly the type of delightful activities I try and avoid...and yet i'm tempted..as long as you can assure me i'll have enough control of my body left to drive myself home, I'll come with. what's the place called/what times is it? and please tell me the required uniform is not leotards.

well yes, it looks, feels and smells like torture but once you've finished the class you feel incredibly accomplished! you will be fine to drive home after.. you're exhausted during the class but once you step outside you feel alive all over again. definitely don't have to wear a leotard lol most people wear very short shorts and on top, a singlet/sports bra if you're a girl or a singlet/topless if you're a guy. the less clothing the better actually =P

there's another location in glen waverley which i'm going to check out.. the introductory offer is $17 for unlimited classes for one week. unfortunately i didn't realise that the initial 10 days i paid for at richmond was an introductory offer, and subsequent classes cost a bit more - so i'm going to be dodgy - i mean smart - and hop across to another location and be a beginner there. i will be doing it again when exams are over, gonna go hardcore for one week in glenny (aiming for twice a day for seven days, so anyone who's interested will probably bump into me after exams!).

I've done Bikram yoga once. And I have got the agree with pretty much everything you said about it. I am certainly interested in it, but I am not to sure that I would be able to afford it and find times that I could get there. I might look into it a bit though.

I regard yoga the same way I regard going to the gym, waiting in queues and bad luck - things that happens to other people.

However, I also love trying out new experiences. And the promise of a Full Body Massage is not something I'm likely to pass up.

After exams, I'd definitely like to attend a session.
