So one day a random google search for "monash kung fu" brought up this news story from 2002 http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2002/10/23/1034561500605.html For those of you who can't be bothered reading it, do you remember the shooting at monash? (around year 7 for the jaffies) Alastair Boast (is he a relation of Boastie's?) helped save the day. Interestingly, the report makes mention of him as "secretary of the Monash University Kung Fu Club and one of its top fighters." What happened to this club? Were they our predecessors? Did they disband? Just so you know a bit more about me, I have been training for about 5 years now - I started in 2002 training under Master Tang himself, stopped mid-2005 to focus on VCE (cause that worked...) and started again 2007 under Master Liu at Melbourne. I also went to Melbourne High School with the one and only Michael Ngan, so you can blame him for my presence. MUTW itself is, let's be honest, quite a fledgling society still, and fairly inexperienced, so we're looking to see what you guys are doing and complaining, hoping to rip off some of what you are doing, only not as well seeing as how we've got fewer members, and a lower average experience/skill level. So anyway, I'm hoping for a nice period of enhanced co-operation, caring and sharing with you lot, and we (I) will be talking to you guys more often now! For all you guys who've recently just purchased a cudgel, a couple of things to do to ensure care for your cudgel. Very simply, sand down the cudgel first and dust it off. Then, give it a coat of linseed oil. Leave it to dry in the sun for about 3 hours, then give it another coat if you think necessary. Also a good idea to engrave your name in the butt of the cudgel to avoid confusion! Thought I'd start it up again and make it a sticky. Wushu One Family has a great selection of trailer style clips from China. Taolu also have numerous clips if you look under 'On the Carpet', 'Off the Carpet', 'Showtime', or 'Clips'. That's about as much as I know.
